EZTip - Deleting a route in EZWxBrief

Once an active route is created in EZWxBrief, it will persist from one session to the next. This is to facilitate using EZWxBrief on multiple devices or picking up where you left off. Often you may start your preflight weather planning for a proposed route using a desktop computer and later switch to using a portable device such as an iPad. Keeping the route active will facilitate moving between devices. However, when you are done with a route how do you delete the active route?

Unlike other applications, EZWxBrief does not require a route unless you specifically need to evaluate the weather along a proposed route of flight against your personal weather minimums. If you don't have a specific route to plan, you may want to delete the active route although it is not mandatory. Nevertheless, deleting the active route can be done using the route editor.

Once you are viewing the map and the active route loads, click on the route editor button in the upper left as shown below.

This will bring up the route editor for the active route. The active route will be filled for your departure and destination airports as well as the proposed route of flight that may include airports, VOR identifiers and other intersections and fixes. Next, you will notice a Delete button on the left side of the menu at the top of the route editor as shown below. If you tap or click on this button a confirmation dialog will appear. Click on Yes to delete the active route.

At this point the active route on the map will be removed and the EZDeparture Advisor™ will change to a time slider with the summary blocks all in gray as shown below.

Most pilots are weatherwise, but some are otherwise
